WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DIRT?
Sometimes in the name of admission, sometimes in the name of practical marks, sometimes in the name of grades, sometimes in the name of appeasing hostel elders, sometimes in the name of appeasing terror bureaucrats. Their bodies are mutilated like wild animals and hungry dogs. The dream of becoming a doctor and an engineer becomes her crime and she has to pay the price.
A heartbreaking news has been circulating on social media and mainstream media for almost two days now. The footage showed a man carrying a girl in his arms and bringing her to the hospital, where he fled. A medical examination revealed that the girl was brought to the hospital dead.
Such disgraceful incidents occur on a daily basis. Sometimes parents drink tears of blood and keep quiet to avoid stigma. Sometimes daughters commit suicide and sometimes they spend their whole lives with these scars.
The root of all this evil is mixed and tireless education and girls living in hostels away from their homes and men teaching girls and parents are not teaching religious education, they are away from religion. In the name of fashion parents allow their girls to wear vulgar dressing
Sometimes false love in colleges and universities and then to please the whole group of friends, otherwise the threat of video upload, sometimes monthly extortion.
It is a shocking incident that the man pretended to love a girl and had an illicit affair, as a result of which the girl became pregnant and then further persecuted the man for aborting or aborting the illegitimate pregnancy. Forced the girl to arrange Rs. 125,000 in the name of university fees by lying to her family and cheating them. Then in spite of all this, the girl lost her life while trying to get pregnant and this so-called false lover left the girl dead in the hospital and ran away from this whole situation.
I ask my sisters and daughters, especially the students, to understand that Allah Almighty has blessed you with an honor by making you a woman. It is through the woman that the generation grows, thus she is the protector of her generation and lineage. That is why, under the feet of a mother, it has been called heaven.
Our esteemed women, sisters, daughters should understand that if such a situation arises, the loss will be to the woman and the man will shake hands and step aside. The honor of yourself and your family is in your own hands. Parents trusted you, sent you to college and university for your better future, so now it is your duty to fulfill their trust and not hurt it.
The incident described above is enough to open our eyes. Such a tragic incident have happened to a girl who had left home for education.
In all these situations, I would again ask the girls to think for themselves and their parents who enrolled you in educational institutions to equip you with education for your better future. Don't hurt their confidence and protect your honor and your precious life.
I would like to ask the parents to spend time and skills on providing religious facilities to their children as well as their religious and Islamic training. Build a trusting relationship with your children so that they can take guidance from you in every situation. Otherwise, regret and disease will become your destiny later in life.
I am really saddened by this tragic incident. Choose the path that is honorable and noble. Otherwise, such incidents will continue to happen and society will be devastated.
I also pray for this girl that may Allah, the Exalted, forgive her shortcomings and slips and forgive her.
Social Media Rules
Pakistan faces an unprecedented onslaught of hybrid warfare due to various regional and extra-regional realignments, which is why it was necessary for the PTI-led regime to "defend itself" through the new social media rules, a senior government official said Tuesday.
The government official told APP that the new social media rules — known officially as the Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules 2020 and prepared under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016 — were a step forward towards regulating online content.
"It is imperative for the state to defend itself against this invasion of chaotic cyber activity and stop an unhealthy ingress impacting social fiber of the society,” he said.
"The rules are designed to block and remove fake news and propaganda against the country’s national security institutions, blasphemous content, hate content, and other sensitive material that violates cultural and ethnic norms" of Pakistan, he added.
The legislation, dubbed among various circles as the Social Media Rules 3.0, was aimed at ensuring effective implementation of Pakistani laws through a quick removal of unlawful, defamatory, obscene, and pornographic content from social media platforms, which were being exploited by various quarters.
The aim behind the aforementioned exploitation from inside Pakistan and abroad, he claimed, was to spread fake and false narratives, as well as to create an atmosphere of uncertainty and chaos to adversely impact the social, cultural, and religious norms of the society.
The official stressed that every country around the world "adopts and enacts a set of laws that confirm to its ideology, domains of national security and the foreign policy objectives".
"Elimination of adverse impact of fake, false, immoral, unethical, and anti-religious rumors is an obligation for any state to ensure a chaos-free society.
"This national obligation has been protected and furthered by the newly-enacted rules," he underlined.
The PTI regime's official also lamented that non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and activists were painting the new social media rules as the state's attempt to "control" the online space.
He asserted that the legislation was not an attempt to control the Internet as was being projected by some NGOs and activists and was conceived to protect masses from online negativities.
The official also regretted that some internet watchdogs, NGOs, and activists were trying to create controversy out of the regime's long-awaited step in the right direction.
He refuted fears voiced by local NGOs and activists that global tech giants may be forced to shut down their operations in the country, saying the huge amount of business that these companies generated in Pakistan would never be compromised by laws that do not impact their revenue streams in essence.
"Pakistan’s digital economy is estimated to increase to the tune of $5.5 billion, which, in some domains, is growing at 100% annual rate," he said. "The rules have virtually no impact on e-commerce."
The government, he explained, had followed due process in the formation of new regulations, showing its will to enact and implement laws for better management of the Internet.
"Tech companies, ISPs, digital watchdogs, legal fraternity and general public were engaged for input and the document was compiled in conformity with the Article 19 of the Constitution, laws he asserted.
The Social Media Rules 3.0 make it mandatory for tech giants to block access to unlawful online content within 24 hours — or, in emergency cases, within six hours — after being reported by a government authority.
"If a social media company or internet service provider fails to abide by the rules, the authority may issue directions for blocking of the entire online system or any services provided by such service providers or social media company," according to the 13-page document.
Social media companies and internet service providers with over half a million users in Pakistan were also required under the new rules to register themselves with a local authority.
They were also obligated to establish a permanent office in Islamabad and appoint a focal person based in the country within nine and three months, respectively, of the rules coming into force.
The rules further bind the social media companies to establishing one or more database servers to store data and online content in Pakistan within 18 months; however, it was subject to the promulgation of the data protection law.
Any individual, government department, and Pakistan's law enforcement agencies may file a complaint under the Social Media Rules 3.0 against any unlawful online content, with reasons for its removal or blocking access on digital platforms.

The Turkish drama, Drilis Ertugrul has been an absolute super-hit in Pakistan for a number of reasons, the foremost being the fact that it is full of moral lessons may they be in the character of Ibn-al-Arabi, Sulaiman Shah or Ertugrul, himself. However, it is very unfortunate that we, as a nation, have focused more on adapting the style of beards and hair-cuts of the actors, the dresses of the actresses and the background music as the ringtone of our mobile phones. Even more agonizing is the fact that, on the Independence Day of Pakistan, a number of people had displayed the flag of the Kayi tribe on their vehicles! Obviously this was not the real purpose of introducing the Urdu dubbed version of the drama in Pakistan; the real purpose was to learn lessons and inculcate them in our lives. Following are a couple of applicable lessons.
The drama, Drilis Ertugrul, is a splendid model of what respect for parents actually means. For instance, the protagonist, Ertugrul, always asked permission of his father, Sulaiman Shah, before doing anything or setting out on any expedition despite the fact that he, himself, was a mature adult capable of taking decisions, independently. In addition, he follows his father’s orders even if they are against his personal opinion. Ertugrul’s elder brother, Gundogdu, clearly said, “My father is my life”. These examples teach us to always keep our parents in the highest esteem and always have the highest regard for them.
No compromise on self-respect:
Every person is respectable and it is his right that others should respect him; his duty to not let his self-respect down. The best example of valuing self-respect is evident in the figure of Ertugrul, himself. When Ertugrul went to Halep to ask the king to give his people land, he, clearly, said when he felt that the king’s uncle and prime minister was not lending him an attentive ear, “I speak with eyes in eyes”. Throughout his talks with the king, neither did he feel pressurized nor did he show inferiority complex. It was this attitude of Ertugrul that moved the king towards fulfilling Ertugrul’s request. Hence, we should always keep our self-respect up but without being arrogant.
Expect the unexpected:
A person should always remain watchful and alert. A short phase of inattentiveness can prove itself to be very costly. A sagacious saying is common, “Watchful eyes get no surprise”. In the drama, Ertugrul was watchful even while resting on his journey to Halep, which is why he was quick to react when Karatoygur’s spies attempted to kill him. He and his companions quickly rose to their feet and fought against the spies defeating them and escaping what would have ordinarily been an evident death.
Prayers count a lot:
The Salebi’s and a few people in the castle at Halep organized an attempt to kill Ertugrul. As something was added in the wax of the candle that burnt in the room he was resting in, Ertugrul lost consciousness. However, a prayer by Ibn-al-Arabi brought him to his senses and made him successful in defeating those with a cruel intent. Had Ibn-al-Arabi not prayed for him, Ertugrul would have been dead. Furthermore, Ertugrul prayed to Allah to make him successful in his purpose of visiting Halep. Ultimately, he became successful despite the fact that there were many who opposed his mission. Hence, we all should pray to Allah and do good to others so that they also pray for our well-being; all prayers count, indeed.
Those involved in wrong acts are destined to fail:
Standing with justice and truth might apparently seem difficult but it is rewarding in the end. Similarly, lending a hand to the wrongdoers or doing wrong acts is, definitely, attractive at that particular moment but the consequences are bitter. For instance, in the entire drama, a wrongdoer did not succeed despite coming across a short phase of hope. Bypora decided to side with Kartoglu, Sulaiman Shah’s brother, in creating anarchy in the tribe. When Sulaiman Shah went to Karatoygur’s castle, Bypora encouraged the people towards a rebellion on Kartoglu’s order. However, when they failed in that particular attempt, owing to a possibility of getting in danger and, on the initiative of the same person, Kartoglu, Bypora’s life ended! Another traitor of the tribe, Al-Barku, sided with Kartoglu; he got caught in a plan devised by the same Kartoglu and lost his life. Later, on being detected in his evil practices, Kartoglu, himself, was beheaded and his dreams to become leader of the tribe went in vain. At another instance, Karatoygur planned to cheat on Ertugrul, his father and his friends and kill them. He, himself, ended up in arrest by his own soldiers, Ertugrul and his friends! This clearly shows that wrongdoers are destined to fail.
Respect your traditions:
The drama teaches us a very important lesson to respect our traditions, always. The afore-mentioned lesson is much required nowadays when, owing to the negative role of the media and a few trouble-mongers, foreign culture is influencing us and we are getting further and further away from our own brilliant traditions. In the drama, despite the possibility of danger, Sulaiman Shah decided to respect his guests comprising of Halime, her brother and her father according to the culture of his tribe and not to hand them over to Karatoygur. On arresting Karatoygur, the people demanded him to be slain, immediately, but Sulaiman Shah refused and said that his fate will be decided according to the traditions of the tribe. Sulaiman Shah was well aware of Kartoglu’s backstabbing but, respecting what his traditions had taught him, he only punished Kartoglu when he got sound evidence of his disloyalty. The last words of Sulaiman Shah to his sons also included the order to always respect their traditions. At various other instances as well, Ertugrul held steadfast to the cultures and traditions of his tribe. It is our duty, as well, to respect our culture and never consider it inferior.
Follow Allah’s path:
Throughout the drama, great emphasis has been laid on the above-mentioned point. Apart from doing good to please Allah Alone and asking Him for help, we should also fulfill all his orders. Ertugrul and his companions had no desire to acquire land and wealth; they put their lives in danger for the sole reason of ensuring the safety of Islam. After they conquered Salebi’s castle, a huge amount of wealth including gold fell into their hands but, abiding by the fair disposition of Sulaiman Shah, it was distributed among the needy. Had there been a lust for wealth in the hearts of the aforesaid warriors, the wealth would have blinded their eyes. Ertugrul, at one point, remarked, “As long as we follow Allah’s path, no one can bring us down to our knees”. Hence, we should also follow Allah’s path with full commitment and hope for reward.
Stand with the oppressed, against the oppressor:
At the very start of the drama, Halime, her brother and her father were in captivity of the Salebis and were shouting for help. Ertugrul and his companions were out for hunting when they heard the voice of someone yelling for help. Instantly, they rushed towards the voice and bravely fought against the Salebi warriors ending up rescuing Halime and her family. Karatoygur repeatedly asked Sulaiman Shah to hand Halime’s brother and father over to him but he refused. At a later instance, Ertugrul clearly remarked, “Come what may, we can never side with the oppressor.” This teaches us the moral lesson to always side with the oppressed and not the oppressor.
Concisely, it is not our duty to debate on whether the actors really are virtuous or not and whether the history, which the afore-mentioned drama depicts, is forged or true. Our duty is to learn lessons and ingrain them in our daily lives for which purpose the drama presents an excellent opportunity.
Neglected parasitic disease during pregnancy:
Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by protozoal parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It is a zoonotic disease. Common house hold cat are the major cause to spread the disease in pregnant women. While infection can be spread through contaminated water or food, undercooked meat, mother to fetus, organ and blood transplant (rare).
In healthy persons very mild symptoms were caused by Toxoplasmosis normally, but as far pregnant women it will cause serious damages to fetus leading to abortion. A cat can’t transmit disease as a pet but the infection comes from coming into contact with the infected faeces of a cat. If a woman before few weeks when she get pregnant or first time infected during her first pregnancy with toxoplasmosis is only a risk to an unborn baby. Congenital toxoplasmosis is the disease which transmits from mother to her unborn baby. If you catch toxoplasmosis for the first time during pregnancy, it does not mean that your baby will be infected. On average, only 4 in 10 of such infections will pass to the baby. Caught during pregnancy, toxoplasmosis can cause miscarriage, stillbirth or damage to the baby’s brain and other organs, particularly the eyes. However, most babies born with toxoplasmosis have no obvious damage at birth but develop symptoms, usually eye damage, during childhood or even adulthood. A few will have more serious symptoms such as blindness or brain damage.
Many factors in our daily routine are can play major roles to spread this contagious disease toxoplasmosis.
These factors could be:
• raw or undercooked meat (meat showing any traces of pink or blood), and raw cured meat
• unwashed vegetables and fruit
• cat faeces or soil contaminated with cat faeces
• unpasteurised goats’ milk and dairy products made from it.
The infection can also be passed:
• Through the placenta if the mother becomes infected infection (mother to unborn baby).
• Through infected matter entering human body fluids; if, for example, during the process of lambing, material splashes into eyes or open cuts.
• Through transplanted organs or blood products from other humans that are infected toxoplasmosis
• Through inhaling the parasite eggs (possible but very unusual).
Person-to-person infection is not possible, except from mother to unborn child. Anyone who eats anything infected with the parasite. Pregnant women who work on the land, in catering or farming may be at higher risk as they may be more likely to come into contact with the parasite. Lambing is a particular risk for pregnant women.
Tips to avoid toxoplasmosis during pregnancy
Only eat meat that has been thoroughly cooked (ie, with no trace of blood or pinkness).
• Avoid raw meat and cured meat, such as Parma ham.
• Wash hands, chopping boards and utensils thoroughly after preparing raw meat.
• Wash all fruit and vegetables thoroughly before cooking/eating to remove all traces of soil.
• Avoid unpasteurised goats’ milk and dairy products made from it.
• Wear gloves when gardening and wash hands and gloves afterwards – if you eat while gardening wash your hands first, and try to avoid gardening in areas that may have been soiled with cat faeces.
• Cover children’s sandpits to prevent cats using them as litter boxes.
• Remove faeces from cat litter tray every day wearing rubber gloves (or ask someone else do this), scald trays regularly with boiling water.
• If you are handling litter trays, wash gloves and hands thoroughly afterwards.
• Do not handle lambing ewes and do not bring lambs into the house
Blood tests for toxoplasmosis can be done at any stage before or during pregnancy. The blood test can usually only show possible infection two to three weeks after any risk incident, as it can take this long for antibodies to be detectable. The blood test involves taking a small amount of blood from the mother. There is no risk to the unborn baby. The blood test aims to show whether certain antibodies indicating toxoplasmosis are present or not, and, if they are present, to find out when the infection happened. If the tests show that there is a recent or current infection, there is a risk that the baby will be infected. But in case of negative blood result Doctor can go with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) result for further confirmation of results. As molecular test are DNA based and their report ones can’t be challenged. The obstetrician or GP will make a recommendation about any further action that might be required. It may take several weeks for the infection to pass from you to your baby. The degree of risk and severity of damage depends on when you were infected. All babies born to women with confirmed toxoplasmosis in pregnancy will be monitored closely by pediatricians and receive blood tests during their first year. Breastfeeding is safe if you have toxoplasmosis, the disease cannot be transmitted this way. You are also passing on extra antibodies to your baby, making their immune system stronger. Breastfeeding is therefore recommended, unless you are being treated with pyrimethamine. This medication should be changed before breastfeeding.
Unfortunately parasitic diseases are neglected in pregnant women in Pakistan. Presence of various abortion causes parasitic disease is serious problems for mother and fetal health also. Parasitic diseases can be considered seriously during pregnancy. Only few studies were found on toxoplasmosis from Pakistan. Therefore it is a suggestion to do more research on this parasite in Pakistan to highlight the damages of this disease and to reduce the possible damages from this disease.
