On Friday, a Lahore accountability court extended the judicial remand of three accused persons for 14 days in the Chinot mining contract case Accountability court judge Ameer Muhammad Khan presided over the hearing in which the lawyer of the former Punjab minister for forestry, wildlife and fisheries submitted his petition for exemption from personal appearance, which was approved by the court.

In 24 hours, at least 276 more cases of dengue fever have been reported across the city of Karachi, bringing the number of reported cases to 8,976 since January 1, 2019.
Sindh, Speaker of the Dengue Prevention and Control Program (PCPD), informed PPI that as many as 304 new cases of dengue fever were detected in one day throughout the province of Sindh, 276 in Karachi and 28 in other districts.
A maximum of 26 people have died so far this year as a result of dengue viral fever in the city's government and private sector health facilities.
Out of the 5,932 confirmed from Karachi and 405 from other districts, a total of 6,337 positive cases of dengue were reported across the province in October.
A total of 9,554 cases of dengue were reported so far in the province of Sindh in 2019, of which 8,976 occurred in Karachi and 578 in other districts.
Police have arrested a man, confirmed by a media outlet, involved in the honor killing of a teenage girl.
As per sources, the suspects stormed a house in February in Kumb town of Khairpur district and abducted 13-year-old Rimsha Wassan who was later assassinated before her parents in honor memory.
Police were forced to arrest the influential Zulfiqar Wassan, who was later sent to prison after reports of this incident circulated in the media.
Meanwhile, the victim's mother, Khursheed Begum, recorded a video statement alleging that she was being kept in confinement along with other members of her family and forced to withdraw the murder case.
"The Zulfiqar Wassan in prison is issuing threats over the phone," said Khursheed Begum.
"By opening fire at home, his (Zulfiqar Wassan's) supporters are intimidating us," she added.
She called for initiative towards those who pressured her family to withdraw the case against the killers of her daughters.
In several other cases of murder and kidnapping, Zulfiqar Wassan is also wanted by police.

OKLAHOMA CITY - When intense flames burned through a large home, firefighters worked to defend nearby homes in Oklahoma City. Firefighters from Oklahoma City were called to a house fire near Memorial and Eastern Ave on Thursday afternoon.
Preliminary reports suggested that when they arrived at the scene, fire crews could see heavy smoke coming from home. Chopper 4 was over the scene with Air Comfort Solutions as heavy flames and smoke devoured the home's roof.
Emergency crews were pushed against the fire to take a defensive stance and operated to defend nearby buildings. It is also unclear how the fire started at this point.
Luckily, firefighters say it was made safe by all the residents and animals. KFOR announced that even this blaze was the daughter of Kevin Ogle, the home of Abigail. Fortunately, it was made safe by all the people and pets inside.
